FOUR PATHS, Clarendon — Promoted sides Jamalco and Four Paths made positive starts to life in the Clarendon/Captain's Bakery Major League following contrasting opening day results on Saturday.
Jamalco, promoted as winners of last season's Division One competition, ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over seasoned campaigners Original Hazard in the first game of a double-header at the Four Paths Community Centre.
Garfield Carney's side scored all three goals in the first 28 minutes courtesy of strikes from Damion Vernal, Udochi Azogou and Mickardo Lawl.
The Hayes-based side were pretty much content with seeing out the second half as Hazard failed to trouble the newcomers.
In the feature game, hosts Four Paths also earned their first point of the season after playing out a 0-0 stalemate with Wood Hall.
While Four Paths, promoted as Division One runners-up, will be happy with a creditable result on their debut, Wood Hall — last season's third place finishers — will feel that they have missed a glorious chance to open their campaign with a win.
