Black Gold, the highly anticipated debut album from Jamaican roots reggae artiste Samory I, was released July14 on vinyl and CD, on all major digital platforms.
RoryStoneLove of Black Dub Music, has released three singles from the album, "Take Me Oh Jah," "African Daughter" and "Rasta Nuh Gangsta" with supporting videos for the last two singles. "Rasta Nuh Gangsta, has been getting an overwhelming response having thus far received over 650 K views and counting on You Tube.
Djs, radio disc jocks and fans worldwide are requesting more of this vibrant and refreshing sounding singer. In every track, he expresses experiences that reflect Black Dub's mission, which is aimed at awakening the black consciousness of the youths world wide. The sweet melodies expressed in this rebel music which celebrates the black experience. Samory I projects an authentic feel in his attempt to unite his culture and youths throughout the world in live roots, reggae, and dub. Samory I explains, "Black Gold is the description of the black race."
He began singing in his own community, Kencot Seventh Day Adventist Church as a child and continued performing at several other events to the delight of his audiences.. His first major show was the Digicel's Bob Marley Tribute at Emancipation Park, February 2014, he also performed at the Dennis Brown Tribute on the Waterfront. He has performed across Jamaica and recently expanded internationally, performing in Europe in summer 2016 at events such as Reeds Festival in Switzerland, Reggae Jam in Germany, and Reggae Geel in Belgium. Noted among his collaborations, is working with International Reggae bands such as Naja Vibes.
